At least 43 people are now known to have died during Christmas storms in the US.

Flash floods hit Missouri and Illinois, there have been blizzards in New Mexico, and tornadoes have struck Texas, where 11 people were killed in the Dallas area.

One twister over the weekend recorded winds of over 300 kilometres per hour.
