Public Transport users are facing a range of fare hikes from this morning.

The biggest increases are for people paying cash fares.

School children face a 5 cent hike in Dublin Bus cash fares and 2 cent on Leap cards.

Tickets for the three stages on Dublin Bus are up 5 cent, but some longer journeys will be slightly cheaper.

Its a mixed story for Bus Eireann users with many fares going up 5 per cent but some others falling by the same amount.

Luas weekly and monthly cards are up 4 per cent.

People with annual three zone Luas tickets will pay an extra 60 euro, but their pass will now work in all zones on the network.

Commuter train fares are increasing by between 1.8 and 2.1 per cent for Leap cards and by up to 3.7 per cent for cash fares.

One way intercity express fares will not increase - return fares are up just under 2 per cent on average.
