Farmers are continuing their demonstrations outside 29 meat factories across the country this morning.

The 24 hour protest, got underway at 3 o'clock yesterday, over what they are calling the large discrepancy between meat prices here and in the UK.

Farmers claim the price paid for meat in Ireland is a euro per-kilo lower than the North.

However, the Meat Industry Ireland has condemned the blockade describing it as 'misguided and counterproductive'.

The President of the Irish Farmers Association, Eddie Downey, has this message for the Agriculture Minister.
