Farmers are holding protests outside meat factories across the country, as 48 hour demonstrations continue

They're calling on beef processors to agree to a better rate for Irish cattle.

Prices in the UK market have improved by 30c per kg in recent months, and the IFA says this must be reflected in returns to Irish farmers.

The Meat Industry has condemned the protest action, saying significant progress had been made during the discussions last week.

But these farmers say agreement has yet to be reached on the main issue which is price.
