Further farmer protests could be on the cards if action is not taken to address the price of beef.
The Irish Farmer's Association says factories have this week to come up with suitable price increases, or farmers will picket again.
The decision was made an emergency meeting of the IFA's executive council last night and follows a 24 hour protest last week.
