A man has died in a house fire in Dublin.

The blaze broke out in Lissadell Drive in Drimnagh at around 9.00 o' clock last night.

Four units of Dublin Fire Brigade and an ambulance attended the scene.

The 67 year old man was rushed to hospital in a serious condition but he was later pronounced dead. It's understood he lived alone.

The scene has been sealed off for a forensic examination.

However at this stage it's understood garda don't believe the fire is suspicious.
