The family of an Irishwoman - facing up to 25 years in prison in Peru - says they're very concerned for her wellbeing.

20-year-old Michaella McCollum Connolly from Dungannon and a friend were arrested at Lima Airport on Tuesday - on suspicion of trying to smuggle 1.7 million euro worth of cocaine out of the country.

Michaella was reported missing by her family - after not contacting them for 12 days from her home in Ibiza.

Michael Russell - Ireland's former honorary consul in Peru - says if found guilty - the women could face a minimum of 7 years in prison.
