Public sector employers have fared poorly in a new survey on the inclusion of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender workers.
The survey by GLEN says the public sector scored 21 per cent on its benchmark system - compared to 51 per cent for private sector employers.
The Workplace Equality Index Report also found that 70 per cent of all employers have out, senior LGBT role models and 60 per cent have an LGBT employee network.
However, only a fifth have gender transition guidelines for staff and managers.
