Fewer nurses = more patient deaths

Cutting the number of nurses can be fatal.

New research published in the Lancet found that patient-to-nurse ratios and nurses' education levels directly affect the number of deaths after routine surgery.

For every one patient added to the nurse's workload - there's a seven percent increase in mortality.
