The Fianna Fáil leader has ruled out going into coalition with Sinn Féin.
Micheal Martin says Sinn Féin's "way of doing business" isn't compatible with his party, and its economic plan is "anti-jobs".
In a statement this morning he says Fianna Fáil is "competing to lead the next government".
His comments follow those of Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams, who yesterday stopped short of ruling out a coalition involving Fianna Fáil:
