Fianna Fáil says it's "not impossible" to overtake Fine Gael in the opinion polls - saying the Irish people like an underdog.

That's despite the final poll of the campaign this morning putting ten points between the parties.

The Red C poll for Paddy Power - of 1,002 voters between Thursday and Sunday - puts Fine Gael unchanged on 30 per cent, and Fianna Fail up two points to 20.

Sinn Fein meanwhile is down one point to 15, Labour is down one to 7, while independents and others are unmoved on 28.

However Enda Kenny has challenged Micheal Martin's credentials for "Taoiseach-ship" - saying he has no economic credibility - while Joan Burton has warned people of the possibility of regretting their vote.

Separately, Sinn Fein has denied it has minimised Gerry Adams' media appearances as the campaign reaches its climax.

The comments come ahead of the final TV debate of the election which takes place tonight.

Our political correspondent Gavan Reilly reports.
