A Fine Gael TD has resigned from the party.
Sean Conlan, a TD for Cavan-Monaghan, announced his resignation on local radio this afternoon.
He says he's resigning over the party's refusal to block the North-South interconnector, which involves building pylons.
Last night Monaghan councillor Hugh McElvaney quit Fine Gael over plans to build electricity pylons in the county.
Fine Gael says it notes his decision and wishes him well, but said existing TDs Joe O'Reilly and Heather Humphreys would continue to fight a "vigorous" re-election campaign.
