The Fianna Fáil leader has learned its lessons from the past - and can now be trusted to lead a government once more.
The claims came as the party released its General Election manifesto - which Micheal Martin says is the most prudent of all the major parties.
The party would cap property tax, scrap USC for those earning less than €80,000, and introduce an annual €2,000 tax credit for childcare.
However Micheal Martin denies it's a giveaway plan like in years gone past - and says it's actually the most prudent plan put forward by any party.
He's also made his clearest statement yet that Fianna Fáil would NOT support a second term for Enda Kenny as Taoiseach.
