Today marks the final day of campaigning for FridayÂ’s referendums, ahead of a broadcast moratorium which takes effect tomorrow afternoon.

On Friday, the electorate will be asked whether or not to allow same-sex marriage in Ireland and if the age restrictions on presidential candidates should be changed.

Campaigners on both the Yes and No sides are encouraging to voters to think clearly about the questions being asked of the public.

Yes campaigners say the best way to secure victory is to turn the support in opinion polls into actual votes, while the No side has again drawn attention to potential implications in the field of surrogacy.

One independent TD on the No side has also taken issue with the former president Mary McAleese, over comments made in a newspaper interview this morning.

A broadcast moratorium on referendum coverage kicks in at 2 o'clock tomorrow.
