Gardaí have located the getaway car used in the murder of Darragh Nugent, as well as two firearms.

The black BMW 3 series car was found on fire at Woodside in the Newtown area of Leixlip last night.

A firearm was later found inside the car during a Garda forensic examination. 

In follow up searches today in Collinstown Park in Neilstown, a second firearm was located.

The park is close to where the father of three was gunned down on Wheatfield Avenue on Monday.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the car, with a registration 02 MH 702, between Wheatfield Avenue and Leixlip this week.
