A 26 year old man has been killed in a crash in County Louth this morning.
He died after his car hit a wall at around 12.20am on the Dundalk to Castleblaney road around 3 miles outside Dundalk at Rathmore
The driver was the only person in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been taken to Louth County Hospital, Dundalk.
The road closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination with diversions for anyone travelling in the area.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have seen the crash to contact them.
This is the first fatality on Irish roads this October Bank Holiday weekend.
Last year there were no road deaths in the same period.
