Flood defences are in place in Galway, with early morning high tides today and tomorrow.

This morning's high tide is at 7.35, while it's 8.23 tomorrow.

Galway City Council has put defences in place at Spanish Arch and Toft Park.

It's advising people not leave vehicles in Toft Car Park around the times of the high tide.

The council has staff on standby to deal with any issues which may arise.
