Gardaí have arrested four men for alleged membership of the IRA in Dublin.

The men were arrested as part of an investigation into dissident republican activity in the Dublin area.

Gardaí from the Special Detective Unit arrested the men following searches early this morning.

Two of the men are aged in their 40s and two are in their 20s.

They are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
