1 thousand books are to be dropped onto Luas trams in an effort to encourage commuters to share literature.
The idea is being piloted by the Dublin Book Festival.
The novels for adults and children will be on the Red and Green lines from November 11th, and it’s hoped passengers will read them and then put them back onto the Luas for another person to read.
The idea was borrowed from London after a similar book swap on the tube.
12 year old Cathal, 11 year old Mia and Daniel who’s 9 love the idea of sharing books with other passengers.
They took a trip on the Luas with Helen Vaughan to tell her how the whole idea will work .
