A French national - who caused the death of a mother of one after colliding with a LUAS last year - has been fined €4,000 for careless driving.
The 31 year old with a previous address at Ha'penny Bridge House, Lower Ormond Quay, pleaded guilty to careless driving at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
The court heard that Quentin Hannezo broke a red traffic light in Dublin City Centre on the 7th of April 2014.
He collided with an oncoming Luas before skidding on to the footpath where Yao Webster had been walking, killing her immediately.
Judge Martin Nolan described the case as tragic and noted that Hannezo had been driving at a normal speed and missed a red light adding that it was a 'human failing' and there was no doubt that he would live with this for the rest of his life.
He imposed a €4,000 fine.
