French fighter planes have dropped 20 bombs on the Islamic State stronghold of Raqqa in northern Syria.

Officials have described it as a "massive" attack - and France's biggest to date.

Several sites have been hit, including a command centre and a recruitment cell.

The military offensive coincides with a warning from the G20 leaders over foreign jihadists.

The heads of the 20 top world economies say they'll share intelligence, track border crossings and boost aviation security, according to a draft statement seen by the AFP news agency.

A minuteÂ’s silence will be held in Paris later, to remember the victims of FridayÂ’s attacks.

This afternoon President Francois Hollande is to address the French parliament in Versailles, where heÂ’s expected to outline FranceÂ’s response to the attacks.
