One in six people admit to calling in to pull a sickie - with Friday's being the most popular day.
The top excuse is that they're not well.
But others include a member of their family or their dog is sick, they've been robbed the previous night or they are locked out of the house.
One in eight workers also confess to making up a Monday morning excuse to recover from a busy weekend.
