A senior cabinet minister has confirmed a full government u-turn over the issue of medical cards.
Michael Noonan says the Minister for Health is looking at ways to give back medical cards which have already been removed under a HSE review.
However the HSE insists it's still illegal to return discretoinary medical cards to people who have had their cards revoked.
