Flags are flying at half mast on public buildings across the country as a mark of respect to Caitriona Lucas who will be laid to rest this morning.
The 41 year old Coastguard volunteer died during a search and recovery operation on Monday in Kilkee in Co Clare when the boat she was in capsized.

The mother of two is the first serving member of the Irish Coastguard to lose her life while on duty.
