A funeral takes place today for Christy Byrne, who died after a fire on board an ambulance at Naas General Hospital.
The 78 year old from Suncroft in The Curragh was pronouced dead at the scene on Thursday.
The HSE is examining the possibility that the fire may have been caused by an oxygen canister.
Two paramedics were injured in the fire - both have since been discharged from hospital.
Mr. Byrne will be laid to rest following a 2pm Requiem Mass in St Brigid's Church, The Curragh
