Further concerns have been raised about the safety of maternity hospitals in Ireland after the death of a newborn baby at Cavan General Hospital.
The latest death comes less than a week after a damning report from HIQA which criticised senior management at Portlaoise Hospital, after five deaths there.
That report identified a litancy of issues at the hospital, and couldn't guarantee its safety.
