GAA Set To Investigate Apparent Eye Gouging Incident At All Ireland Quarter Finals


The GAA is set to launch an investigation into a brawl at Sunday's All Ireland Senior Football Quarter Final.

An alleged eye gouging incident at the Galway - Armagh game is likely to be at the centre of the investigation.

Tensions turned to violence at at the of full time at the game in Croke Park.

The brawl happened as the players headed back to the tunnel at the end of normal time, and lasted around a minute.

It included players, subs, backroom staff and members of extended panels.

Galway player Damien Comer's eye was apparently gouged during the encounter by a member of the Armagh panel.

It will be among a number of other incidents set to be investigated by the GAAs Central Competitions Control Committee today.

The Tribesmen returned to beat Armagh after penalties, following extra time.

They'll face Derry in the semi-finals.
