Gardai in Dublin are appealing for information following an attempt on the life of John GIlligan at the weekend.

The 61-year-old was shot a number of times at his brother's house in Clondalkin on Saturday evening.

The convicted drug dealer is recovering in hospital today, where he has been placed under armed guard.
