Gardai are appealing for information following the death of a 64-year-old man in Co Offaly.
The body of Thomas 'Toddy' Dooley was discovered at his home at Sister Senan Court in Edenderry at 2.45 yesterday afternoon.
He had suffered serious injuries to his upper body.
The State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy carried out a preliminary post mortem on his body, before it was removed from the scene this afternoon.
Gardai are expected to launch a murder inquiry in the coming hours.
