The Garda Commissioner says he won't take legal action over the Public Accounts Committee's plans to hear from a Garda whistleblower.
Martin Callinan says it's not in the public interest for the Gardaí to pursue legal proceedings against an Oireachtas committee.
In a statement he says he has reservations about the private hearing tomorrow, but noted that the meeting will take place in private - and that the PAC had been given legal advice limiting the questions it could ask.
He's also promised to co-operate fully with the Garda Ombudsman investigation into alleged corruption in the penalty points system.
