Gardaí investigating this morning's shooting of Gareth Hutch close to O'Â’Connell Street in Dublin say they are looking for two men in connection with the murder.

Gardaí say the men shot Mr Hutch several times before escaping in a black 5 series BMW.

It has emerged that an armed checkpoint was stationed just 200 metres from the murder scene and locals says the victim knew his life was in danger.

Two handguns have been found following the shooting and this evening Gardaí are carrying out further searches in the area.

The father of one is the seventh man to be murdered as part of the Hutch/Kinahan feud.

Meanwhile, a man in his 40s has been arrested in west Dublin connection with the murder of Eddie Hutch.

He is being questioned at Mountjoy Square under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be questioned for up to seven days.

Eddie Hutch was shot at his home on Poplar Row in Dublin on February 8th.
