Two people including a Garda have been shot dead in Co Louth.
It happened at a house in Omeath on the Cooley Peninsula this evening.
It's understood Gardaí had been called to a domestic incident.
Another man was fatally injured and a woman is in a serious condition.
The scene has been sealed off and the Office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
The Garda Representative Association have released a statement:
"We are shocked and saddened by the awful news that a colleague in Omeath has been shot and killed this evening. Our thoughts and prayers are with the member’s family, friends and colleagues at this time. This dreadful, dreadful news is the deepest fear of every police family. This puts everything we do into perspective. At this time of distress, the garda family will be doing everything possible to support the late garda’s relatives and loved ones, friends and colleagues," said GRA President Dermot O'Brien.
