The two young children of a man shot in West Dublin last night were in the house at the time of the shooting.
The 38 year old received a number of gunshot wounds, and is in a serious, but stable condition in hospital, with non life-threatening injuries.
The incident happened at Parslickstown Green at about 8.15 last night, when several shots were fired into the rear of a house.
Gardai say he was shot by a man in dark clothing wearing a balaclava, who escaped in a dark, medium-sized car.
Superintendent Liam Carolan from Blanchardstown Garda station made this appeal;
