Gardai investigating the murder of a woman in Sligo this morning have arrested a 33 year old man.

The victim at the centre of the inquiry was tonight named as 24-year-old Natalie McGuinness.

She was found this morning at a house on the Mailcoach Road in the town and was later pronounced dead at Sligo Regional Hospital.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
