One man remains in Garda custody this morning in connection with investigations into a serious sexual assault on two young girls in Athlone.
The victims of the alleged attack - aged 6 and 9 - remain in hospital this morning.
The assault is alleged to have taken place at a house in Athlone around 4 o'clock on Saturday afternoon - officers believe the girls were lured away from a children's party by a grown male.
Three men were arrested yesterday - two in their 40s and one in his early 30's - the men in their 40's have since been released without charge.
