Detectives have extended the period of detention for a man being questioned over the murder of a woman in Co Westmeath.

43 year old Brigid Maguire was found dead at a house in Ballynacargy at 9.30 on Saturday night.

The man, who is in his 50s, was detained in Mullingar on Sunday.

He must be released or charged today.
