A new facial recognition system has been introduced at Garda Headquarters to help investigate crimes.

Evo-fit uses a personÂ’s recognition of a criminalÂ’s face, rather than their recall of individual features.

The system is already used in police forces in the UK – where it’s seen a huge increase in identifying suspects.
