A 12 year old boy remains in hospital after being knocked down in an apparent hit and run in Cork last night.
The incident happened on Thomas Davis Street in Blackpool while the young boy was crossing the road at 21:50 last night
The car believed to be a BMW failed to stop - a wing mirror belonging to the car however, was found at the scene.
Gardai say this could prove crucial in tracking down the driver, and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They boy was taken to Mercy University Hospital by ambulance - he is said to be in a comfortable condition this morning.
A technical examination of the scene was carried out and the road has since reopened to traffic.
