Seven people remain in a serious condition in hospital in the South East this morning following a serious car crash in Co. Carlow over the weekend in which a 42 year old man was killed
Two men, aged 33 and 36, were airlifted to Waterford University Hospital - while two other men, aged 12 and 33, along with three women, aged 46, 50 and 80, were taken to St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny following the serious collision on Saturday.
All seven people are described as being in a serious condition.
The crash happened at around 5pm when two cars collided on the Old Bagnelstown-Carlow Road at Ballybannon.
A 42 year old man was pronounced dead at the scene and a post mortem was carried out yesterday.
A 46 year man who was also involved in the incident was uninjured.
Gardai have a launched a full investigation into the crash.
Meanwhile in Dublin
A baby boy remains in a serious condition in hospital following a road crash on Saturday.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash which happened at the junction of Hamptonwood Green and Hamptonwood Avenue in Finglas
The infant was taken to Temple Street Children's Hospital where he remains this morning.
