A Garda investigation is underway following the deaths of two men aged in their 60s and 70s in Co Mayo.
The bodies of the two brothers were discovered at their house on New Antrim Street in Castlebar.
A home help assistant, who looked after the men, alerted Gardai at around 7 o'clock this morning.
Its understood one of the victims was found inside the house while the body of the second man was discovered in the backyard.
Their bodies remain at the scene.
Edwin McGreal from the Mayo News newspaper says it's believed the men suffered violent deaths during a botched robbery:
New Antrim Street has been closed to traffic and the house has been sealed off awaiting the arrival of a team from the Garda Technical Bureau and a member of the State Pathologist's Office.
Superintendent Pat Diskin from Castlebar Garda Station says the deaths are being treated as suspicious.
However he says they will await the outcome of post mortem examinations at Mayo General Hospital - before deciding what direction the inquiry will take.
