Gardaí investigating a murder in Walkinstown, Dublin on Sunday 15th February are appealing for information on the movements of a car.

64 year old Edward Nugent was shot dead outside his home at Harty Avenue in Walkinstown, in what's believed to have been a case of mistaken identity.

Gardai are seeking to trace the movements of a silver Honda Civic between 6.30 and 9.30pm on Sunday 15th February.

It has a partial registration 04D and is a Japanese import with distinctive alloy wheels which had been stolen from the Kilmainham area earlier that evening.

It was found partially burnt out at the junction of Esposito Road and John McCormack Avenue in Walkinstown at around 9.30pm that night.

Any information on the car on Sunday 15th February should be given to gardai in Crumlin, or any Garda station.
