A 42 year old man is continuing to be questioned in connection with the deaths of a couple in their 70's in Co Donegal.
The couple were found at their home in Churchtown, Carndonagh on the Inishowen Penninsula.
Gardai were called to the scene just after 0830 after being called y a family member.
A 42 year old man was arrested a short time later - he's been held at Buncrana Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
The man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene. Gardai say their injuries suggest they were the victims of an attack
The scene remains sealed off and a Garda technical team is to conduct a full forensic exam.
A hatchet found at the house is also to be examined as part of the investigation.
The Office of the State Pathologist has also been notified.
