More than 50 thousand euro in cash and 20 thousand euro worth of jewellery was seized during Garda raids in Dublin this morning.

Officers also seized a number of GPS tracking devices and an assortment of financial documents.

One man in his 30s was arrested during the operation on foot of an outstanding warrant.

Around 80 officers began the raids at 7 o'clock this morning targeting criminal gangs in the Kevin Street and Pearse Street areas of Dublin's south inner city.

The raids were part of an investigation into an organised crime gang involved in the distribution, sale and supply of controlled drugs in Dublin City Centre and adjoining suburbs.

It follows a similar operation by Gardai earlier this week.

The operation was led by detective units at Kevin Street and Kilmainham and also involved gardai from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau; Special Detective Unit and Criminal Assets Bureau.

Members of the dog unit, divisional crimes of scene unit and South Central Divisional Task Force also took part.
