Gardai in Co. Wicklow are renewing their appeal for information about a baby girl whose remains were discovered at a recycling plant three months ago.

The infant, who was given the name Alannah, was found at a Greenstar recycling plant near Fassaroe in Bray on the 4th of May.

Gardai in Bray are appealing to the mother to come forward, saying she will be treated discreetly and sensitively.

Baby Alannah was laid to rest at Redford Cemetary in Greystones, with Gardai, Greenstar staff and other members of the public in attendance.

Juliette Gash reports;

Superintendent Pat Ward who is in charge of the investigation wishes to make the following appeal to the public as three months has passed since the discovery of her body.

"Three months have passed since the discovery of baby Alannah. I am concerned for the welfare of baby Alannah’s mum. She is most likely in an anxious state of mind and in need of medical assistance. I appeal to mum to immediately seek medical treatment. Myself or Sergeant Sorcha Fitzpatrick are available at Bray Garda Station to provide assistance to mum and dad. We will handle any contact discreetly and sensitively”.

Superintendent Ward issued a further appeal to anyone who may have any information, however small, that can assist in establishing the circumstances leading to the discovery of baby Alannah to contact the gardai at Bray Garda Station on 01- 6665300, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
