Gardai say they are treating the death of a woman in Co Louth yesterday as murder.

Marie Quigley was found dead with serious head injuries at the family home in Rathmore near Hackballscross yesterday afternoon.

It happened just hours after her husband died in a crash, after driving the wrong way on the M1 motorway, and collided with a truck and a car.

The couple's four children are requesting privacy to grieve their parents.
