A man is due in court after a significant cannabis find in Co. Clare.
Gardai from the drugs unit searched a house in Ballymaley in Ennis yesterday - and seized 98 thousand euro worth of cannabis plants and herb.
They arrested two men aged in their 30s and 40s - one of whom was released - with a file going to the DPP.
The second man is due in court in Kilrush this afternoon, charged in connection with the seizure.
Meanwhile, in Co. Louth Gardai have seized a large quantity of tobacco and un-distilled alcohol in Dundalk.
Gardai from the regional support units and the Revenue Customs Service helped local officers to carry out a planned early morning search of a premises at Proleek, Ravensdale, where the tobacco, empty pouches, equipment for sealing pouches and boxes of cigarettes were uncovered along with alcohol labels and 60 litres of what appears to be un-distilled alcohol.
The value of the haul is being estimated at €850,000.
The scene has been sealed off while investigations continue. No arrests have yet been made.
