Gardaí are still trying to identify a young man killed by van in County Carlow yesterday.

The victim, who's believed to have been in his mid 20s, was hit while walking along the Tullow to Ballon Road at around 5 in the morning.

Detectives have issued his description in the hopes that family members may come forward.

He's over 6 feet tall, well built, with short red hair.

His body has been removed to Waterford Regional Hospital.
