Gardai investigating a brutal attack on a college student in County Kildare at the weekend are expected to issue a further appeal for information later.
The 18 year old suffered serious head injuries in the assault outside the Moyglare Abbey Estate in Maynooth on Sunday night.
The woman, who's originally from Castleblayney in county Monaghan suffered a broken jaw, a fractured eye socket and lost several teeth in the brutal attack.
The 18-year-old, who is studying at Maynooth University, was returning to college after visiting her family for the weekend.
She got off a bus in Maynooth and was making her way to her accommodation when she was attacked at the entrance to Moyglare Abbey Estate shortly before half past eight.
She was taken to Connolly Hospital in Dublin's Blanchardstown where she's in a critical condition.
The scene has been preserved for a technical exam. No arrests have been made.
