The County Cork community of Cobh is coming to terms with the stabbings of a husband and wife at their home last night.

The bodies of 53 year old Michael Greaney and his 49 year old wife Valerie were found at their home in O'Neil's Place in the town after the alarm was raised by their teenage daughter. 

Gardaí say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with their killings and that they are treating it as a  tragic family incident.

Another woman in her 20s, believed to be their daughter, was also discovered seriously hurt in the house and is being treated in hospital.

Local Councillor Kieran McCarthy can hardly believe the news.
