Aiken Promotions tonight confirmed that the proposal to hold matinee shows will not be feasible.

It follows a meeting between Peter Aiken of Aiken Promotions and the Chief Executive of Dublin City Council Owen Keegan which will see five Garth Brooks concerts go ahead at Croke Park-over three days.

In a statement earlier this evening, the City Council has agreed to a proposal from Aiken Promotions designed to break the impasse that has arisen.

Under the proposal the three concerts will proceed -but the Saturday and Sunday concerts will start earlier- to facilitate separate matinee show on the two days.

The City Council will also consider an updated Event Management Plan, to be submitted in accordance with the Licence.

The council says 'this will allow everybody who bought a ticket to see Garth Brooks".

However, the issue was a matter for Aiken Promotions and Garth Brooks to decide if they will accept the proposal.

In a statement issued tonight, Aiken Promotions confirmed that the proposal to hold matinees on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July will not be feasible.
